For the fourteenth year, the attractive exhibition of the “Friends of the Sea” project has been touring the squares and waterfronts of the Croatian Adriatic. During the summer of 2024, a large number of visitors will see the exhibition at nine destinations in Istria and the Northern Adriatic.
About the “Friends of the Sea” project
In 2009, the Livingstone association from Rijeka and the Astoria company designed the national cultural-tourism campaign “Friends of the Sea”. The goal is to draw attention to the role of photography in media culture and the social responsibility and ongoing value of promoting the ecology and preservation of the Adriatic Sea with large-format photo exhibitions open to the Croatian public and all visitors every year during the summer months. www.prijateljimora.com
EXHIBITION 2024 – Friends of the Sea: “Fishing”
The exhibition from the series “Friends of the Sea” in 2024 in 30 large formats examines fishing and life at sea and presents visuals as seen by photographers looking for their authentic shots in the optical play of light. The goal of this exhibition is to show domestic and foreign visitors an enviable media culture through photography, which, as a theme in a given time, shows people and fishing, which means life, in a special way. The photographic excellence of the selected authors is reflected in their understanding of artistic aesthetics. The works were selected by the expert team of the “Rovinj Photodays” festival, and are exhibited by: Petar Trinajstić, Ivan Kosić, Danijel Frka, Aleksandar Tomulić, and Sandro Puncet. In cooperation with tourist associations, Friends of the Sea will host: Pula, Rovinj, Mali Lošinj, Krk, Njivice, Omišalj, Baška, Punat, Šilo and Malinska.
