Minimalism
Fotoklub Čakovec has been operating since 2007. Its main goals are the promotion and development of photographic art and the education of club members and the public in the field of photography. The club operates by organizing regular weekly meetings throughout the year, exhibitions, educational workshops, domestic and international collaborations and through its web-portal. The exhibition “Minimalism” is the annual collective exhibition of the members of Photo Club Čakovec for 2014. Ivica Nikolac, exhibition selector: …I look at minimalism as a concept, a state of mind, where it is not necessary to reduce the content to abstraction in order to achieve an effect. I believe that minimalism is a kind of combination of experience, understanding of what has been seen and a commentary on society, and I consider the technique used to achieve it, whether it is a technical or artistic aspect, to be unimportant.
