We invite you to the opening of the photo exhibition Zuzane Pustaiove , One day every day, on Thursday September 22, 2022 at 7 p.m in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. The exhibition will present the photographic series of the same name, with which the artist won the Grand Prix at the Rovinj Photodays festival in 2021 and a year later defended her doctoral dissertation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. The staged photographs from the series One Day Every Day show how the common man responds to the imperative of lifestyle, indirectly announcing his successes and failures. Observing the current social landscape, Zuzana Pustaiová points out the unrealistic demands imposed by the modern model of life, from the ideology of a healthy life, the cult of the body and social adaptability, to general efficiency and social responsibility. She fails to deal with these topics seriously, her allies are humor and play with which she constructs a world where the rules are tolerable, and at least subject to change. The characters from the series One Day Every Day twist idealized standards in favor of life, ordinary everyday life, in which we find many unusual comic details such as multiplied artificial nails, a stack of cigarettes in the mouth, piles of tampons and toilet paper rolls, post-it notes, flying pieces of pizza, paper disguises. The multiplication process refers to the immoderation of the tasks imposed by everyday life, so all the scenes from the photographs often exceed the limits of the comfort zone and inconspicuously emit a hint of discomfort.
