ReFoto magazine has a history of seventeen years. It appeared in 1996 under the name Foto, and after three issues and a break, it returned to the photography scene in 2001 under the name ReFoto and has been published continuously since then. Due to the increasingly rapid changes and development of digital technologies, from the 45th issue, instead of bimonthly, it begins to be published on a monthly basis and succeeds in becoming what the editors set themselves as a goal: a regional magazine for the culture of photography. Up to the hundredth issue, 9,224 pages were printed, 28,084 photos were published, while the weight of the published magazines is more than 30 kilograms. A huge number of the most diverse photographic topics were covered, numerous workshops and even more lectures, seminars and webinars on photography were held, the magazine had almost seventy competitions, several of which resulted in large and, above all, well-attended exhibitions in renowned galleries, but also on billboards and in city transport buses. Support for young authors is visible in the “Memorial Dragoljub Tošić” competition, where the prize is the organization and complete realization of the winner’s solo exhibition. As for the 100th issue, it was conceived and realized as a kind of cross-section of the state of the photography scene in our country and in the world during the past years, and it was shaped like a photographic almanac, on whose 160 pages the authors of the photographs that marked certain issues are presented.
