ON introduce:
“Many of us are used to doing a lot of things “over the line”; to get a job, win various contests, enroll children in kindergartens and schools, push grandmothers to check-ups in hospitals, receive awards, etc., etc. With the justification that everyone does it and that they will not be the only fools waiting “in order and order”. Because anyone who waits, as you know, gets bored in the waiting room, doesn’t get a job, doesn’t experience so-called success, isn’t the leader in the village. Of course, moving through life “through a relationship” is not legal, in the judicial sense. But practice teaches us that often these laws are just a collection of regulations and rules that are feared, warned and punished by those who “have no connection”. Socio-political reality is just the cellophane in which the internal struggles, fears, falls and victories that our female characters go through are wrapped. In fact, we describe in a humorous way the hilarious nervous breakdowns that these stage personas lived through and survived and came out of them stronger. Like any full-blooded cabaret, this one will be a cocktail of politics and erotica. Our stage sufferers present themselves with stand-up monologues, their stories are Tarantino’s bizarre and Almodovar’s melodramatic, and each story ends with a burlesque point.”
Ivan Leo Lemo, director
“The HIT show “Cabaret over a connection” is a full-blooded dark humor show that dissects the ailments of Croatian society and the traditional hypocrisy from which we suffer with surgical precision with laughter, dance and song!”
